1. About Us
marry.lk is operated by Binary Digital Labs (Pvt) Ltd (Company Registration No. PV00293965), a company incorporated in Sri Lanka (“marry.lk”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the marry.lk matrimony platform, including our mobile application and website (collectively, the “Service”).
2. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and marry.lk. We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use of the Service after changes are made constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
3. Eligibility
To use marry.lk, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be legally eligible to enter into a binding contract
- Not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable laws
- Intend to use the Service for the purpose of finding a marriage partner in good faith
4. Account Registration
When you create an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
- Keep your account credentials confidential and not share them with others
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
Family-Managed Profiles
A parent, guardian, or family member may create or manage a profile on behalf of an adult family member, provided that:
- The profile owner (the individual seeking a partner) is aware of and has consented to the profile being created and managed
- All information submitted is accurate and truthful
- The profile represents the adult named in the profile, not the family member managing it
- The family member accepts full responsibility for compliance with these Terms on behalf of the profile owner
marry.lk is not responsible for any disputes arising from profiles created or managed without the knowledge or genuine consent of the named profile owner.
5. Acceptable Use
marry.lk is intended solely for finding a genuine marriage partner. You agree not to:
- Create a false, misleading, or fraudulent profile
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or marital status
- Use the Service for casual dating, commercial solicitation, or any purpose other than matrimony
- Harass, intimidate, or threaten other users
- Send unsolicited communications, spam, or irrelevant messages
- Share obscene, offensive, or inappropriate content
- Attempt to access another user's account without permission
- Use the Service to solicit money, gifts, financial information, or visa assistance from other users
- Screen-record, screenshot, or redistribute another user's profile, photos, or private messages outside the Service without their express consent
- Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the Service
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently remove accounts that violate these Terms without notice or refund.
6. User Content
By submitting photos, text, or any other content to the Service, you grant marry.lk a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating the Service.
You are solely responsible for the content you submit and represent that you have all necessary rights to share such content. You must not submit photos or content that belong to or depict another person without their consent.
7. Profile Verification
We require identity verification to maintain the safety and authenticity of our community. By submitting verification documents:
- You confirm the documents are genuine and belong to you
- You consent to our team reviewing and processing your identity documents for verification purposes only
- You understand that a verified badge indicates identity has been checked, and does not constitute an endorsement or guarantee of any user's character or suitability
- You accept that we may revoke verified status if we discover inaccurate or fraudulent information
8. AI-Powered Features
marry.lk uses artificial intelligence to generate profile summaries and provide personalised match suggestions. By using the Service, you acknowledge that:
- Certain profile information you provide may be processed by AI systems to generate written summaries visible to other users
- Match suggestions and daily recommendations are generated through automated processing of your profile and preferences
- AI-generated content is for informational purposes only and does not represent our endorsement or assessment of any user
- You may contact us at any time to request that an AI-generated summary about your profile be reviewed, corrected, or removed
9. Subscriptions & Payments
marry.lk offers a Premium subscription that unlocks additional features. By subscribing you agree to the applicable billing terms for your platform:
- iOS: Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple's terms of sale apply.
- Android: Payments are processed by Google through Google Play. Google's terms of sale apply.
- Bank transfer: Payments are made directly to our designated bank account in LKR. Activation is manual and subject to payment confirmation.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Where a free trial is offered, it will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before the trial expires. Cancelling during a trial period will not incur any charge.

10. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our practices regarding your personal information, including how we handle sensitive data such as religious affiliation and identity documents.
11. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality on the Service — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, and software — are the exclusive property of marry.lk and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works, publicly display, or otherwise use any content from the Service without our prior written permission.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless marry.lk, its directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses — including reasonable legal fees — arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your breach of these Terms; (c) any content you submit to the Service; or (d) your violation of any rights of another user or third party.
13. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe:
- Violates these Terms or our community standards
- Is harmful to other users, third parties, or marry.lk
- Creates legal liability for us
You may also terminate your account at any time using the account deletion option in the app, or by contacting our support team.
14. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. marry.lk makes no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:
- That the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
- That use of the Service will result in successful matches, relationships, marriages, or family acceptance
- The accuracy, completeness, or authenticity of user-provided profile information
- That verified profiles are free from misrepresentation — verification confirms identity only, not character or suitability
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, marry.lk shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or emotional distress, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
16. Offline Meetings & Personal Safety
marry.lk facilitates introductions online but is not responsible for interactions that take place outside the platform. If you choose to meet another user in person, we strongly recommend:
- Meeting in a public place for initial meetings
- Informing a trusted friend or family member of your plans before meeting
- Not sharing sensitive personal or financial information before establishing adequate trust
- Reporting any concerning behaviour or requests to us immediately via the in-app report function
marry.lk is not liable for any harm, loss, or injury arising from offline interactions between users. Please review our Safety Tips for further guidance.
17. Referral Program Terms
About the program
The marry.lk Referral Program (the “Program”) lets eligible members earn a Free Premium Month by inviting new people to join marry.lk. By taking part, you agree to these Referral Program Terms in addition to the rest of these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
Who can refer
You may take part only while your marry.lk profile is approved and Live. Each Live profile receives one personal referral code and link, which do not change. We may suspend or withdraw your participation at any time if your profile is no longer Live.
Who counts as a referred member
A referred member must:
- be a new marry.lk user who has never had a marry.lk account before, including a deleted one;
- enter your referral code, or arrive through your referral link, while creating their profile — a code cannot be added or changed after that; and
- be a real person creating a genuine profile for themselves or a family member, in line with these Terms.
You cannot refer yourself, create additional accounts, or use another person's details to earn rewards.
When a referral qualifies
A referral qualifies when the referred member's profile is approved and becomes Live within the period shown in the app after the code was entered, and then stays Live for the qualifying period shown in the app (currently 30 days from the date it first becomes Live) without being suspended, expired or deleted.
A referral will not qualify, and no reward will be given, if the referred member's profile is rejected, suspended, expired or deleted, for any reason, before the qualifying period is complete.
Rewards
- For each qualifying referral you receive one Free Premium Month (30 days of Premium membership), or the reward shown in the app at the time the referral qualifies. Only the referrer receives a reward.
- If you already have a Free Premium Month running, a new reward extends your current end date; otherwise it starts on the date it is granted.
- Your profile must be Live on the date the reward is granted. If it is not, the reward is forfeited.
- If you have an active paid Premium subscription when a referral qualifies, the referral is recorded but no reward is given.
- If you buy a paid Premium subscription while you have a Free Premium Month, the paid subscription replaces it and any remaining free days are not carried over.
- You can earn up to the number of Free Premium Months shown in the app (currently 3) in each calendar year (1 January – 31 December). Qualifying referrals beyond this limit do not earn a reward.
No cash value
Rewards have no cash value and cannot be exchanged, refunded, transferred or sold. A Free Premium Month is not a paid subscription, does not renew automatically and is never charged.
Sharing responsibly
You may share your code and link with people you know and on your own social media. You must not send spam or unsolicited bulk messages, run paid advertising that uses the marry.lk name, make false or misleading statements about marry.lk, pretend to be marry.lk, or offer anything in return for using your code.
Fraud and misuse
We may review any referral. We may withhold or cancel rewards, cancel referrals, or suspend accounts if we reasonably believe the Program has been misused, including through fake or duplicate accounts, the same device being used to create several accounts, self-referral or any breach of these terms. Our decision is final.
Privacy
To run the Program, we record which member referred whom. A referrer sees each person who joined with their code under that person's chosen display name, with the date they joined and the progress of the referral. No photos, profile details or reasons a referral did not qualify are shared through the Program.
Changes and ending the Program
We may change these Referral Program Terms, the reward, qualifying periods or limits, or suspend or end the Program at any time. Changes do not affect rewards already granted. Referrals still in progress when the Program ends may not qualify.
18. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka, including the Personal Data Protection Act No. 9 of 2022 where applicable. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.
19. General
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and marry.lk regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements or understandings.
Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms on any occasion will not be considered a waiver of those rights for future occasions.
