1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using the Matrimony application and website (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Matrimony. We may update these Terms from time to time, and continued use of the Service after changes are made constitutes your acceptance.

2. Eligibility

To use Matrimony, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be legally eligible to enter into a binding contract
• Not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable laws
• Intend to use the Service for the purpose of finding a marriage partner in good faith

3. Account Registration

When you create an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
• Keep your account credentials confidential and not share them with others
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

4. Acceptable Use

Matrimony is intended solely for the purpose of finding a genuine marriage partner. You agree not to:

• Create a false, misleading, or fraudulent profile
• Use the Service for casual dating, commercial solicitation, or any purpose other than matrimony
• Harass, intimidate, or threaten other users
• Send unsolicited communications, spam, or irrelevant messages
• Share obscene, offensive, or inappropriate content
• Attempt to access another user's account without permission
• Use the Service to solicit money or financial information from other users
• Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the Service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently remove accounts that violate these terms.

5. Profile Verification

We require identity verification to maintain the safety and authenticity of our community. By submitting verification documents:

• You confirm the documents are genuine and belong to you
• You consent to our team reviewing and processing your verification documents
• You understand that verification does not constitute an endorsement or guarantee of any user
• You accept that we may revoke verified status if we discover inaccurate information

6. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our practices regarding your personal information.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality on the Service — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, and software — are the exclusive property of Matrimony and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works, publicly display, or otherwise use any content from the Service without our prior written permission.

8. User Content

By submitting photos, text, or any other content to the Service, you grant Matrimony a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating the Service.

You are solely responsible for the content you submit and represent that you have all necessary rights to share such content.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Matrimony makes no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:

• That the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
• That matches made through the Service will result in successful relationships or marriages
• The accuracy or completeness of user-provided profile information

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Matrimony shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or emotional distress, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe:

• Violates these Terms or our community standards
• Is harmful to other users, third parties, or Matrimony
• Creates legal liability for us

You may also terminate your account at any time by contacting our support team.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.
